The non-surgical Brazilian bum lift at CoLaz is exactly that, non-surgical. There are no incisions, no needles, no fat transfer and no operating theatre. It is a body-contouring and skin-firming protocol that uses external radio-frequency, vacuum suction and ultrasound to lift and tone the area from the outside, priced from £300 per session at our Reading clinic.

What the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift actually is

It is worth stating up front so there is no confusion. This treatment is the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift. It uses external devices applied to the skin to firm, lift and contour the buttocks. It does not involve fat being liposuctioned from one area of the body and injected into the buttocks. That is the surgical BBL, a major operation performed in a hospital under general anaesthetic, which has been associated with the highest mortality rate of any aesthetic surgical procedure. We do not offer the surgical BBL at CoLaz.

The non-surgical version combines three external technologies. Radio-frequency heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate new collagen production. Vacuum suction lifts and mobilises the tissue. Ultrasound cavitation refines the surface and helps reduce the appearance of cellulite. The goal is a toned, lifted, firmer version of your own shape, not a new shape and not added volume.

Patients hoping for a dramatic volume increase are not a good match for this treatment, and we will tell you so clearly at consultation rather than oversell what is realistically achievable from a non-surgical protocol.

How a session runs

Each session lasts around sixty minutes. After a brief skin clean and the application of a contouring gel, the radio-frequency handpiece is worked across the buttocks and upper thighs for around twenty minutes. This is the deep-warmth phase, where most patients describe the sensation as a firm, warm massage.

The vacuum suction handpiece follows, also for around twenty minutes, lifting and mobilising the tissue across the treatment area. The pulling sensation is firm but comfortable, and the suction strength is dialled in to suit your tolerance.

The session finishes with ultrasound cavitation across the area to refine the surface and help reduce the appearance of cellulite. The high-pitched buzz of cavitation in the inner ear can sound odd for the first minute or two; it settles quickly. The skin is then cleansed, a post-treatment cream is applied, and aftercare is reviewed in clinic and confirmed in writing before you leave.

There is no anaesthetic, no recovery pain and no significant downtime. You can return to work, normal life and most exercise the same day, avoiding only intense glute or leg workouts for twenty-four hours.

Realistic results and how to make them last

The clinically meaningful protocol is a course of six sessions spaced one week apart at £1,200, which works out to £200 per session. A course of three at £720 is the starter package for patients wanting to test the treatment. A single session at £300 gives a noticeable lift and tightening for several weeks but does not build the same lasting result.

Expect firmer, tighter, smoother skin, a visible lift in the upper outline, a reduction in the appearance of cellulite, and a more sculpted look in clothes and swimwear. The change builds gradually over the course because collagen takes time to lay down and mature. Most patients see the most noticeable difference between weeks six and twelve from the start of the course.

Results typically last six to twelve months. Maintenance sessions every four to six weeks once the initial course is complete help hold the contour and the skin quality. Pairing the treatment with consistent glute training, hydration and a balanced diet improves and extends the result, and we will discuss the supporting routine at your free consultation.

Often considered alongside

Patients booking the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift often consider radio-frequency on additional body areas, ultrasound cavitation for focal inch loss on the thighs or waist, electrolipolysis for targeted lipolysis and inch loss, and fat freeze cryolipolysis for localised stubborn fat pockets.

Common questions

What patients ask first.

What is the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift and how is it different from the surgical BBL? +

This is important to be clear about. The non-surgical Brazilian bum lift uses external radio-frequency, vacuum suction and ultrasound cavitation to firm and contour the buttocks from the outside. There are no incisions, no needles and no fat transfer of any kind. The surgical BBL, by contrast, is a major operation performed in a hospital under general anaesthetic, where fat is liposuctioned from one area of the body and injected into the buttocks. The surgical BBL has been associated with the highest mortality rate of any aesthetic surgical procedure, and we do not offer it at CoLaz. The non-surgical version we offer is a contouring and skin-firming treatment, not a volumising one.

What results can I expect from the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift? +

Realistic outcomes are firmer, tighter, smoother skin on the buttocks, a visible lift in the upper outline, reduced appearance of cellulite, and a more sculpted look in clothes and swimwear. It will not add volume the way fat transfer or implants would, because there is no filler material being introduced. The result is best described as a toned, lifted version of your own shape rather than a new shape. Patients with mild laxity, dimpling or a flattened upper-buttock contour see the most noticeable difference; patients hoping for a dramatic volume increase are not a good match and we will tell you so at consultation.

How many sessions will I need and how long do results last? +

A single session gives a noticeable lift and tightening that lasts a few weeks. The clinically meaningful protocol is a course of six sessions spaced one week apart, which builds collagen and remodels the area gradually. A course of three at £720 is the starter package for patients wanting to test the treatment; a course of six at £1,200 is the full recommended protocol. Results typically last six to twelve months, with maintenance sessions every four to six weeks once the initial course is complete. The plan is agreed in writing at consultation.

Does the treatment hurt and is there downtime? +

The treatment is comfortable for most patients. The radio-frequency feels like a deep, warm massage. The vacuum suction feels like a firm pulling sensation as the handpiece moves across the skin. The ultrasound cavitation produces a high-pitched buzzing sound in the inner ear, which some patients find odd at first; it settles quickly. There is no anaesthetic and no recovery pain afterwards. There is no significant downtime: you can return to work, normal life and most exercise the same day, avoiding only intense glute or leg workouts for twenty-four hours.

Is the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift safe? +

External radio-frequency, vacuum suction and ultrasound cavitation are all well-established skin and body contouring technologies with a strong safety record when delivered by trained practitioners. Side effects are usually limited to short-lived pinkness, warmth and occasional mild bruising. Because there is no incision, no injection and no fat transfer, the serious risks associated with the surgical BBL do not apply. We are not the right clinic for patients seeking the surgical fat-transfer procedure, and we will say so clearly at consultation rather than try to redirect you to a treatment that does not match your goal.

Who should not have the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift? +

We do not treat patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have a pacemaker, an implanted electronic device or significant metal implants in the treatment area, who have an active skin infection, open wound or skin disease in the area, who have epilepsy, who have recently had abdominal or buttock surgery, or who have a serious cardiovascular condition. Patients with significant obesity may be better served by a different combination of treatments and a wider lifestyle review, which we will discuss honestly at consultation. We always review medical history in detail before agreeing to proceed.

How much does the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift cost at CoLaz? +

A single session is £300. A course of three is £720, which works out to £240 per session. The full recommended course of six is £1,200, which works out to £200 per session. Pricing is confirmed in writing at your free consultation, with no upsells in the treatment room. Again, to be completely clear: this is the non-surgical Brazilian bum lift, using external radio-frequency, vacuum suction and ultrasound, with no incision, no fat transfer and no operating theatre involved.
