Skin concern

Ageing skin.

Fine lines, loss of firmness, volume loss and a tired, deflated look that no cream is going to lift. We treat the three drivers of facial ageing in a layered plan.

The condition

What is actually happening in ageing skin-prone skin.

Skin ageing is the gradual result of three separate processes working together: collagen and elastin production drop by roughly one per cent a year from your mid-twenties, fat pads and bone structure shift and shrink, and the muscles of facial expression carve lines deeper into the skin above. Each driver needs a different fix.

Topical retinoids and serums help maintain the surface, but they cannot restore the volume that has gone or lift tissue that has descended. In-clinic work is what addresses the underlying structure: targeted muscle relaxation, replaced volume, bio-stimulation to rebuild the collagen scaffold, and energy-based tightening for laxity.

At CoLaz we plan ageing-skin protocols in layers rather than all at once. The first consultation is a frank conversation about the face you see in the mirror, what is realistic, and which combination will deliver the most natural result for your stage and your features.

Matched to this concern

The treatments we would consider for ageing skin.

No single treatment works for every patient, we pair the right protocol to your skin type, the severity and where it is appearing. The combinations below are the most commonly indicated at CoLaz.

How we approach it

A layered plan, built across months not minutes.

I.

Address the structure first

The first sessions usually focus on the foundation, Profhilo to support the collagen scaffold, fillers to restore the volume that has shifted, and HIFU where genuine laxity is the driver. Working from the structure outward delivers a more natural result than chasing surface lines.

II.

Refine and maintain

Once the structure is addressed, anti-wrinkle injections soften the remaining dynamic lines, and a maintenance rhythm keeps the result stable. Most patients settle into Profhilo twice a year, fillers every twelve to eighteen months, anti-wrinkle every three to four months, with HIFU every twelve to eighteen months for those who use it.

At home

What you can do alongside the in-clinic plan.

  • Wear SPF 50 every morning year-round, UV exposure is the single biggest external driver of premature ageing
  • Add a topical retinoid (start at the lowest strength) into your evening routine, proven to maintain collagen between in-clinic sessions
  • Stay properly hydrated and protect sleep, dehydration and poor sleep show in the skin faster than most patients realise
  • Avoid smoking and limit alcohol, both visibly accelerate collagen breakdown and dull skin tone
  • Add vitamin C serum in the morning under SPF, supports collagen synthesis and helps brighten overall tone

A note from the clinic

“Ageing well is not about chasing perfection or trying to look twenty years younger. It is about looking rested, balanced and like the best version of yourself for the age you actually are.”

Common questions

About ageing skin treatment.

When should I start in-clinic anti-ageing treatment?

There is no single right age, it depends on your skin, your genetics and how visible your dynamic lines are at rest. Preventative anti-wrinkle injections are often started in the late twenties or early thirties for patients with strong forehead or frown movement. Profhilo is most commonly started in the mid-thirties to forties as skin quality starts to shift. Fillers usually enter the picture from late thirties onwards as volume loss becomes visible. The honest answer comes from a consultation with a qualified clinician, not from a calendar.

Which treatment is right for my stage of ageing?

Different drivers need different treatments. Surface fine lines that appear with expression are best addressed with anti-wrinkle injections. Volume loss in the cheeks, tear troughs, temples and jawline is filler work. Overall skin quality and laxity respond to Profhilo. Genuine jowls, sagging and brow descent that has gone beyond filler need an energy-based lift like HIFU. Most patients in their forties and fifties benefit from a combination rather than a single treatment, agreed at consultation with photographs and a written plan.

Will I end up looking overdone or unnatural?

Done conservatively, no. The frozen or overfilled look is the result of too much product, treatment given without an understanding of facial anatomy, or a patient asking for a more dramatic change than their features can carry. At CoLaz our clinicians dose conservatively at the first session, photograph the result at the two-week review and only build up from there. The goal is for your friends to comment that you look rested or fresh, not to wonder what you have had done.

How long do anti-ageing treatments last?

It depends on the treatment. Anti-wrinkle injections last three to four months for first-time patients, four to six months with regular maintenance. Hyaluronic acid fillers last twelve to eighteen months depending on the area and the product used. Profhilo runs in two-session courses every six to twelve months. HIFU results build over three to six months and last twelve to eighteen months. All of these are addressed in the consultation as a maintenance schedule rather than a one-off.

Can I have several treatments in one visit?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers are often combined in a single appointment. Profhilo is normally given as a stand-alone session. HIFU is always stand-alone with no other treatment that day. We will plan the sequence at consultation so each treatment has the best chance of settling cleanly.

How much do anti-ageing treatments cost at CoLaz?

Pricing depends on the treatments matched to your plan. Anti-wrinkle injections start from one-area pricing; fillers are priced per ml or per area; Profhilo is sold as a two-session course; HIFU is priced per zone. The full plan price is confirmed in writing at your free consultation before any session is booked, with no upsells in the chair.

Are these treatments safe?

All anti-ageing treatments at CoLaz are delivered by qualified clinicians using CE-marked products, with medical history reviewed in detail at consultation. Short-term effects such as mild swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness at the treatment site are normal and self-limiting. Anything more significant is rare and is discussed honestly at consultation before treatment is agreed. We will decline to treat if a contraindication is present, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin infection or certain autoimmune conditions.
