Non-surgical vaginal tightening is one of the most clinically considered treatments we offer, and one of the most carefully delivered. At CoLaz it is performed only by qualified clinicians, in a private treatment room, after a thorough and confidential consultation, with a course of three priced at £997 at our Reading clinic.
How non-surgical vaginal tightening works
The treatment uses controlled radio-frequency or laser energy delivered through a slim handpiece introduced gently into the vagina. The energy heats the deeper layers of the tissue to a precise temperature, well below any burn threshold, which is enough to stimulate new collagen production, support the structural strength of the vaginal wall and improve the activity of the moisture-retaining glycoproteins in the tissue.
There are no incisions, no stitches and no general anaesthetic. The handpiece is slim and lubricated, introduced gently, and moved in controlled passes for around twenty to thirty minutes. You stay fully draped throughout, with only the treatment field exposed.
The clinical goal is restorative rather than reconstructive. It will not replace surgery in cases of moderate or significant prolapse or significant incontinence, which are gynaecology-team matters. What it does well is address the laxity and dryness that often follow childbirth or accompany perimenopause and menopause, and which sit in the gap between watchful waiting and surgical repair.
When to talk to your GP first
Some concerns need a GP review before we treat. If you have abnormal bleeding that has not been investigated, persistent pelvic pain, suspected prolapse, moderate or significant urinary incontinence, or any other gynaecological symptom that has not been formally assessed, please see your GP first. We will ask about all of this at the free consultation, and we will request a referral or coordinate with your GP where it is the right call.
For mild stress incontinence, the small leak with a cough, a laugh or a sneeze, non-surgical vaginal tightening is often a reasonable option alongside continued pelvic floor work. We will discuss the realistic expected benefit at consultation, and we will be honest if pelvic floor physiotherapy or a urogynaecology opinion is the better first step.
If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy in the near future, breastfeeding, or recovering from a recent pelvic surgery, this is not the treatment for you at this stage. We will explain why at consultation and suggest when to revisit if appropriate.
What a CoLaz appointment looks like
The free consultation is unhurried and confidential. It takes place in a private room with a closed door and a qualified female clinician where requested. We discuss your concerns, your medical history and your goals at your pace, with no pressure to proceed. The standard course of three sessions at £997 is agreed in writing only if treatment is clearly suitable.
On the day, allow about forty-five minutes for the full appointment. You stay fully draped throughout, with only the treatment field exposed. The handpiece is slim, lubricated and introduced gently. The energy is delivered in controlled passes over around twenty to thirty minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable warmth rather than pain, and we pause at any point you ask us to.
Aftercare is simple but specific. No sexual intercourse for forty-eight to seventy-two hours, no tampons or swimming for forty-eight hours, and no intense exercise, cycling or heavy lifting for forty-eight hours. Showers are fine. Initial firmness and improved moisture are usually noticed within four to six weeks; the full collagen-remodelling result builds over three to six months.

Common questions
What patients ask first.
What is non-surgical vaginal tightening and how does it work? +
Non-surgical vaginal tightening uses controlled radio-frequency or laser energy delivered through a slim handpiece introduced into the vagina. The energy heats the deeper layers of the tissue to a precise temperature, which stimulates new collagen production, improves the structural support of the vaginal wall, and increases moisture-retaining glycoprotein activity. There are no incisions, no stitches and no general anaesthetic. The procedure is performed in a private treatment room by a qualified clinician, with full discretion and a tailored chaperone arrangement on request. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable warmth rather than pain.
Who is non-surgical vaginal tightening for? +
It suits women who have noticed vaginal laxity after childbirth that has not fully resolved with pelvic floor exercise, women going through perimenopause or menopause who are experiencing reduced elasticity and dryness, and women with mild stress urinary incontinence such as a small leak with a cough or a sneeze. We ask for a recent GP review and, where appropriate, a formal referral if you have moderate or significant incontinence, a prolapse, persistent pain, abnormal bleeding or any other gynaecological concern that should be assessed by a doctor first. The consultation is unhurried and confidential, and we will only proceed if treatment is clearly suitable for you.
Is the treatment painful or embarrassing? +
We understand this is a sensitive area to discuss and an even more sensitive area to be treated. Every consultation and every session takes place in a private room with a closed door, with a qualified female clinician where requested, and with full discretion about what is and is not on your record. The treatment itself is comfortable for most patients, with a sensation of warmth rather than pain. The handpiece is slim, lubricated and introduced gently. You stay fully draped throughout, with only the treatment field exposed. If you ask us to pause at any point, we pause.
How many sessions will I need and when will I see results? +
The standard course is three sessions spaced four weeks apart, with most patients noticing initial firmness and improved moisture within four to six weeks of the first session. The full collagen-remodelling result builds over three to six months because new collagen takes time to lay down and mature. A maintenance follow-up at twelve to eighteen months helps hold the result, particularly for patients in or past the menopause where ongoing oestrogen change continues to affect the tissue.
What downtime should I expect after vaginal tightening? +
There is no significant downtime. Most patients return to work and to most normal activities the same day. The specific restrictions are: no sexual intercourse for forty-eight to seventy-two hours, no tampons for forty-eight hours, no swimming pools, baths or saunas for forty-eight hours, and no intense exercise, cycling or heavy lifting for forty-eight hours. Showers are fine. Mild internal warmth or a slight pinkness is normal for the first day and settles quickly. Any unusual bleeding, discharge or pain should be reported to the clinic the same day.
Who should not have non-surgical vaginal tightening? +
We do not treat patients who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy in the near future, or breastfeeding. We do not treat patients with an active urinary or vaginal infection, with abnormal bleeding that has not been investigated, with a recent pelvic surgery or a current pelvic floor repair, with an intrauterine device that has not been confirmed as compatible by your GP, or with a history of pelvic cancer that has not been formally cleared. We also do not treat moderate or significant prolapse or moderate or significant incontinence as a first-line treatment; those are gynaecology-team matters and we will refer or coordinate. Every consultation includes a detailed medical history review and we will decline treatment if it is not clearly safe and appropriate for you.
How much does vaginal tightening cost at CoLaz? +
A course of three sessions is £997, which is the standard recommended protocol. A single follow-up treatment, typically booked twelve to eighteen months later for maintenance, is £395. Pricing is confirmed in writing at your free consultation with a qualified clinician, in a private room, with no upsells in the treatment room. We do not offer a single-session price for the initial protocol because the clinical evidence supports the full course of three for a meaningful and lasting result.
