DermaQuest is the botanical brand peel range built for sensitive skin and Fitzpatrick four to six. Pumpkin, salicylic and mango-brite formulations combine acids with fruit enzymes and supporting botanicals to deliver brightening, texture and tone results across a structured course rather than a single peak session. From £299 for a course of three across our UK clinics.
How DermaQuest is different
A standard chemical peel uses a single acid family, glycolic, salicylic, lactic, at a defined strength, designed to deliver its effect in a single peak session followed by flaking and recovery. DermaQuest takes a different approach: blend multiple actives in lower concentrations with botanical extracts, fruit enzymes and brightening agents, and deliver the result cumulatively across a course.
The practical difference is comfort and tolerance. DermaQuest peels feel gentler in the chair, flake less aggressively afterwards and suit a wider range of skin types, including sensitive, reactive and melanin-rich skin where a traditional acid peel carries higher risk of irritation or post-inflammatory pigmentation.
The trade-off is that DermaQuest is sold as a course rather than a single session, because a single peel does not give the same result as the full three or six. This reflects how the formulation is designed to work; pricing follows the protocol.
Which DermaQuest for which skin
Pumpkin Peel pairs pumpkin enzymes with lactic acid, vitamins A and C, and barrier-supporting botanicals. It is the gentlest of the three, ideal for dull, dehydrated or first-time peel skin and for sensitive patients who want a brightening reset without committing to a stronger acid.
Salicylic Peel pairs salicylic acid with botanicals that calm the inflammation that standalone salicylic can cause. It works on active acne, blackheads, congested T-zones and oily skin, with less of the redness and tightness a single-acid salicylic produces.
Mango Brite Peel pairs mandelic and azelaic acids with mango butter and brightening agents. Mandelic is the most pigment-friendly of the AHA acids, which is what makes this formulation the standout choice for pigmentation, melasma and uneven tone in Fitzpatrick four to six skin where stronger AHAs carry more risk.
The right DermaQuest for your skin is matched at consultation after a full skin assessment, never picked from a menu in advance.
After your DermaQuest
Expect mild pink skin, a tight or warm feeling and light flaking from day two to five. Most patients return to work the same afternoon, with light cover-up makeup once the first twenty-four hours have passed. The flaking is gentler than a standard acid peel and less visible socially.
For the first twenty-four hours, no makeup, no active skincare and no fragrance, only the barrier cream and SPF 50 applied in clinic. For the next five to seven days, switch to a gentle cleanser and a barrier-supporting moisturiser; skip retinol, vitamin C and acid-based actives even if your routine normally tolerates them.
Do not peel, pick or exfoliate the flaking skin manually; let it shed naturally or you risk a pigment patch where the skin was disturbed. SPF 50 every morning, reapplied every two hours when outdoors, for at least four weeks is non-negotiable, particularly for the pigmentation protocol.

Often considered alongside
Patients booking DermaQuest often consider chemical peels when a single-acid AHA or BHA is a better fit, Cosmelan for stubborn melasma that has not responded to standard peels, Hydrafacial as a gentler monthly maintenance between peel courses, and microneedling for collagen-induction beyond surface renewal.
Common questions
What patients ask first.
What is DermaQuest and how is it different from a standard chemical peel? +
DermaQuest is a professional brand of multi-action peels that combine acids with botanical extracts, fruit enzymes and brightening agents in a single formulation. Standard chemical peels use a single acid family (glycolic, salicylic, lactic) at a defined strength. DermaQuest peels blend multiple actives in lower concentrations with supporting botanicals, which gives a gentler, more comfortable experience suited to sensitive skin and Fitzpatrick four to six, with results that build through a structured course rather than peak in a single session.
Which DermaQuest formulations does CoLaz offer? +
Three formulations make up the CoLaz DermaQuest menu. Pumpkin Peel uses pumpkin enzymes and lactic acid for gentle exfoliation, brightening and barrier support, suited to dull, dehydrated or first-time peel skin. Salicylic Peel pairs salicylic acid with botanicals to treat acne, oily and congested skin without the irritation of a standard salicylic. Mango Brite Peel combines mandelic and azelaic acids with mango butter for pigmentation, melasma and uneven tone in melanin-rich skin. The right formulation is matched at consultation.
Why is DermaQuest sold as courses only? +
DermaQuest peels are formulated to deliver their effect cumulatively rather than in a single peak session. A course of three is the minimum that gives a meaningful brightening, texture and tone result; a course of six gives the strongest, longest-lasting outcome. Selling single sessions would mean charging patients for a peel that has not had the chance to do its job. Course pricing reflects the protocol the formulation is designed for.
How many DermaQuest sessions will I need? +
The starter course is three peels spaced two to four weeks apart. Most patients see noticeable brightening, evenness and surface smoothing across the three sessions. The full course of six gives a deeper, more sustained result and is the recommended protocol for pigmentation and acne-prone skin. Maintenance peels every two to three months are often suggested once the initial course is complete.
Is there downtime after a DermaQuest peel? +
DermaQuest is one of the gentlest peel ranges available, so downtime is usually less than a standard acid peel. Expect mild pink skin, a tight or warm feeling, and light flaking from day two to five. Most patients return to work the same afternoon with light cover-up makeup after twenty-four hours. Heat exposure, swimming and intense exercise are out for forty-eight to seventy-two hours.
Who should not have a DermaQuest peel? +
We do not treat patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have an active skin infection, cold sore or eczema flare in the treatment area, who are on isotretinoin currently or in the last six months, who have a known allergy to any of the botanical ingredients, who have a recent tan or sun exposure, or who have a history of keloid scarring. Skin and history are reviewed at consultation before the right formulation is agreed.
How much does DermaQuest cost at CoLaz? +
All three DermaQuest formulations are priced the same. Pumpkin Peel is £299 for a course of three and £449 for a course of six. Salicylic Peel is £299 for a course of three and £449 for a course of six. Mango Brite Peel is £299 for a course of three and £449 for a course of six. Single sessions are not offered because the formulation is designed for cumulative effect. A free consultation is required before any course is booked.
