Oxygen facial is the no-needle, no-peeling, no-downtime glow boost. Pressurised oxygen and a tailored serum are infused into the skin in a single session, plumping, hydrating and brightening with results that show the moment you leave. Often booked as the day-before-an-event facial. From £89 per session, with a course of six at £399, at our Hounslow clinic.
How an oxygen facial actually works
An oxygen facial uses a specialised device that delivers pressurised, purified oxygen onto the skin together with a tailored infusion of hydrating and brightening serums. The pressure of the oxygen stream helps the serum penetrate beyond the surface, plumping the skin with moisture and giving an immediate, visible glow.
The serum is matched to your skin at consultation. A hydration serum will lead with hyaluronic acid; a brightening serum will weight vitamin C and tranexamic acid; a calming serum will use peptides and antioxidants. Whatever the goal, the oxygen pressure does the same job: drive the serum deeper than a hand-applied product can reach.
There are no needles, no acids and no peeling, which is why this treatment suits very sensitive skin and patients who want a gentler alternative to acid peels or microneedling. The result is immediate, plumped, fresh-looking skin with no recovery period at all.
What oxygen facial is best for
The classic oxygen facial candidate has dull, dehydrated or tired-looking skin and wants a fast, visible glow, often ahead of a wedding, photoshoot or special occasion. The treatment is one of the most reliable on the menu for immediate brightness and plumping, and the result holds for around a week with no rebound.
It also works as a calming maintenance for sensitive skin that cannot tolerate acid peels or needling, and as a refreshing top-up between bigger protocols. Many patients book an oxygen facial as a mid-month boost between their monthly Hydrafacial or after a course of peels has settled.
Oxygen facial is not a structural treatment. Where deep lines, scarring or laxity are the real concerns, microneedling, HIFU or injectables on the CoLaz menu will give a better result. We will say so honestly at consultation rather than book a session that will not meet your goal.
After your oxygen facial
There is no downtime at all. The skin is plumper, brighter and more hydrated immediately after the session, with no redness, peeling or restriction. Makeup can go on straight away, exercise is fine the same day, and there are no rules about heat, sun or swimming beyond your usual SPF routine.
To make the result hold longer, drink plenty of water in the twenty-four hours after the session and continue with a hydrating moisturiser at home. Daily SPF 50 is always recommended, not because of the oxygen facial itself but because it is the single most important step in any skincare routine.
A single session gives a glow that holds for around a week. The full course of six builds a deeper, more sustained improvement in hydration and brightness. Most patients book maintenance every four to six weeks once the course is complete, often alongside Hydrafacial or LED on alternating visits.

Often considered alongside
Patients booking oxygen facials often consider Hydrafacial for a deeper cleansing-and-glow protocol, LED light therapy as a calming finish, deep cleanse facial for a more traditional facial experience, and chemical peels when stronger surface renewal becomes the goal.
Common questions
What patients ask first.
What is an oxygen facial and how does it work? +
An oxygen facial uses a specialised device to deliver pressurised, purified oxygen onto the skin alongside a tailored infusion of hydrating and brightening serums. The pressure helps the serum penetrate beyond the surface, plumping the skin with moisture and giving an immediate, visible glow. There are no needles, no acids and no peeling. The treatment is sometimes described as a celebrity pre-event facial because of how visibly fresh the skin looks straight away.
What can an oxygen facial treat? +
Oxygen facial is the standout pre-event treatment for dull, dehydrated or tired-looking skin that needs a fast glow. It also works as a calming maintenance for sensitive skin that cannot tolerate acid peels or needling, and as a refreshing top-up between bigger protocols such as Hydrafacial, peels or microneedling. It will not address structural concerns such as deep lines, scarring or laxity; for those, other treatments on the CoLaz menu are more appropriate.
How is oxygen facial different from Hydrafacial? +
Both treatments hydrate, plump and brighten the skin without downtime, and both are popular pre-event facials. Hydrafacial uses a vortex-suction device to cleanse, exfoliate, extract and infuse in a multi-step protocol designed to give deeper cleansing alongside the glow. Oxygen facial uses pressurised oxygen and serum infusion in a simpler, gentler protocol that suits very sensitive skin and patients who want a faster, lighter session. Many patients alternate the two across the year.
How many oxygen facial sessions will I need? +
A single oxygen facial gives a noticeable, immediate glow that lasts about a week. A course of six spaced two to four weeks apart gives a deeper, more sustained improvement in hydration and brightness. Most patients book a single session ahead of an event and a course when they want a longer-term maintenance plan. Maintenance every four to six weeks once the initial course is complete keeps the skin looking fresh.
Is there downtime after an oxygen facial? +
There is no downtime at all. The skin is plumper, brighter and more hydrated immediately after the session, with no redness, peeling or restriction. Makeup can be applied straight away, exercise is fine the same day, and there are no rules about heat, sun or swimming beyond your normal SPF routine. This is one of the gentlest facials on the CoLaz menu.
Who should not have an oxygen facial? +
Oxygen facial suits almost every skin type, including sensitive and reactive skin. We do not treat patients who are pregnant in the first trimester as a precaution, patients with an active skin infection or cold sore in the treatment area, or patients with severe rosacea where pressurised contact may flare the redness. Medical history is reviewed at consultation and the protocol is adjusted or treatment declined where appropriate.
How much does an oxygen facial cost at CoLaz? +
A single oxygen facial is £89. A course of six is £399, working out at approximately £66 per session, the protocol most patients choose when they want a sustained hydration and brightness plan. The tailored serum is included in the price. A consultation is required before any course is booked, free with a treatment.
