Mole removal at CoLaz clinics

Send a photo of your mole to your nearest CoLaz clinic on WhatsApp. A qualified clinician reviews the image, confirms whether the mole is suitable for cosmetic in-clinic removal (we only treat moles your GP has already cleared as benign), and replies with a fixed price within one working day. We use advanced electrolysis: an electrical current delivered through a fine needle that destroys the mole cells without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Mole removal at CoLaz is a cosmetic procedure, not a diagnostic one. We only treat raised benign moles that your GP has already cleared, and every case is reviewed in writing by our clinical lead before treatment is booked. Send a photo of the mole on WhatsApp; a qualified clinician confirms suitability and replies with a fixed price within one working day. Treatment is performed using advanced electrolysis at our UK clinics.

Safety first, always

A mole is a cluster of pigment-producing cells in the skin. Most moles are benign and stay stable in colour, size and shape for life. A small number change in a way that needs proper medical assessment, and that assessment is a GP and dermatology job, not a clinic cosmetic job.

For that reason we will not treat any mole that has not been cleared as benign by your GP first. We will not perform diagnostic excisions, we will not treat changing or pigmented lesions, and we will refer you back to your GP if anything about the lesion is uncertain. Dark or changing moles should never be cosmetically removed without dermatology assessment.

If your mole has been cleared and you want it removed for cosmetic reasons, we take photographs at consultation and send them to our clinical lead for written sign-off before any treatment is booked. This is the standard pathway for every patient.

How the procedure works

Once your case has been signed off, we use advanced electrolysis as the precision method for cosmetic mole removal. A very fine needle is inserted into the mole and a thermolysis current is delivered through the tip. The current destroys the mole cells without damaging the surrounding skin, which is why the method is described as quick, controlled and unlikely to leave significant scarring in trained hands.

No stitches, no scalpel. The procedure itself takes only a few minutes per mole. Larger moles are sometimes lifted away on the same day; others dry into a small scab and slough off naturally over the following days. A topical numbing cream is applied first, and most patients describe the sensation as a brief warm pressure on the area.

Most raised benign moles clear in one session. Larger or deeper moles sometimes need a second top-up session six to eight weeks later, after the first treatment has fully healed and the clinical team has reviewed the result.

Healing and aftercare

A small scab forms over the treated site within twenty-four hours. Keep the area clean, dry and covered for the first forty-eight hours, apply the antiseptic balm we provide twice daily for ten to fourteen days, and let the scab fall away naturally rather than picking it. Picking is the single biggest cause of a longer healing time or a more visible mark.

A faint flat mark is normal at the treated site for several weeks while the skin remodels, and it usually fades by three to six months. A small permanent pale or pink mark is possible, especially on larger moles, and we discuss the realistic cosmetic outcome with you in detail before you decide whether to proceed.

Apply SPF 50 to the treated spot every morning for at least eight weeks once the area has fully healed. The new skin underneath is highly photosensitive and unprotected sun exposure during this window is the most common cause of a darker mark at the site.

Available across selected CoLaz clinics

Mole removal is delivered at our CoLaz Derby, Wembley, Slough, Reading, Southall and Hounslow clinics by qualified clinicians. Use the clinic finder to choose the location that suits your postcode and schedule, or send a WhatsApp message, most clinics reply within five minutes during opening hours.

Often considered alongside

Patients booking cosmetic mole removal often consider skin tag removal for soft pedunculated growths on the neck or underarms, seborrhoeic keratosis removal for waxy benign age-related growths, DPN removal for small dark papules on darker skin tones, and age spot removal for sun-induced flat brown patches on the face and hands.

Common questions

What patients ask first.

What is a mole and which moles can CoLaz remove? +

A mole, or melanocytic naevus, is a cluster of pigment-producing cells in the skin. Most moles are benign and stay stable in colour, size and shape for life. We only remove raised cosmetic moles that have been confirmed as benign by your GP first. We do not perform diagnostic excisions, we do not treat changing or pigmented lesions, and we always send pre-removal photographs to our clinical lead for review before any treatment is agreed.

How does mole removal work at CoLaz? +

We use advanced electrolysis. A fine needle delivers a thermolysis current into the mole that destroys the mole cells without damaging the surrounding tissue. The procedure itself takes only a few minutes per mole, with the full appointment running fifteen to thirty minutes depending on size and location. No stitches, and the surrounding skin is left untouched. Larger moles can sometimes be removed on the same day; others slough off naturally over the following days.

How do I send a photo for a quote? +

Tap the Send a photo on WhatsApp button at the top of this page. Choose your nearest CoLaz clinic. WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message; attach a clear, well-lit photo of the mole and send. We will ask whether your GP has confirmed the mole is benign, how long it has been there and whether it has changed. We cannot quote without GP clearance for moles.

What if my photo shows something that isn't a benign mole? +

If the photo shows a mole that has changed in colour, size or shape, has more than one colour, has uneven edges, is larger than six millimetres, itches, bleeds or crusts, or is new in adulthood, the clinician will decline to quote and refer you back to your GP. These are the standard ABCDE warning signs and they need dermatology assessment, not cosmetic removal. We will not bypass this for any patient.

How many sessions will I need? +

Most raised benign moles clear in one session. Larger or deeper moles sometimes need a second top-up session six to eight weeks later, once the first treatment has fully healed and the clinical team has reviewed the result. We confirm the likely number of sessions in your photo quote reply, so you know what to expect before you book.

Will it leave a scar? +

A faint flat mark is normal at the treated site for several weeks while the skin remodels, and it usually fades by three to six months. A small permanent pale or pink mark is possible, especially on larger moles or moles in areas with thinner skin. We discuss the realistic cosmetic outcome with you before you decide whether to proceed. Patients with a personal or family history of keloid scarring should mention this at consultation so we can adjust the plan or decline treatment.

What is the aftercare? +

Keep the area clean, dry and covered for the first forty-eight hours, apply the antiseptic balm we provide twice daily for ten to fourteen days, and let the small scab fall away naturally rather than picking it. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools and intense exercise for forty-eight hours. Once the area has fully healed, apply SPF 50 daily for at least eight weeks. The new skin underneath is highly photosensitive and unprotected sun exposure during this window is the most common cause of a darker mark at the treated site.

How much does mole removal cost at CoLaz? +

Mole removal is priced per mole, and the price depends on the size, location and number of moles being treated, as well as the depth of work needed. Pricing is confirmed per photo quote, in writing, before any treatment is booked. We would rather quote you accurately than under-quote and renegotiate at the till, which is why we read the actual photo (and any GP letter) before we put a number on it.
