Diamond peel is one of the gentlest professional exfoliations we offer at CoLaz: a diamond-coated wand and a controlled vacuum that lifts dead skin off the surface with no acid, no heat and no downtime. From £45 per session, across our seven UK clinics.

How a diamond peel actually works

A wand coated with industrial-grade diamond particles is drawn across the skin in small precise strokes. As it passes, a controlled vacuum at the tip lifts the loosened dead surface cells away from the skin and into a waste chamber, so the exfoliated material is not redeposited.

The effect is mechanical rather than chemical: the wand polishes the surface and triggers a mild renewal response in the underlying skin. Because there is no acid, no heat and no needles, diamond peel is one of the few exfoliations safe in pregnancy and on the most sensitive skin types.

The result is an immediately smoother, brighter surface that reflects light evenly, takes makeup more cleanly, and lets the next round of skincare absorb better than it did into a dead, dull layer.

What a CoLaz session looks like

Your session opens with a free consultation and a double cleanse of the skin. The therapist then selects the diamond tip strength for your skin and the vacuum level, and works systematically across the face, neck or body area in overlapping strokes.

The thirty-minute Express session covers the full face with light vacuum, ideal for a maintenance refresh. The sixty-minute standard session adds the neck and a longer treatment time with adjustable vacuum, used for deeper congestion or rough surface texture.

The session closes with a hydrating serum and a calming mask, with SPF 50 applied in clinic. An optional LED light therapy add-on extends the post-treatment glow and helps settle any minor redness.

After your diamond peel

The skin can look mildly pink for an hour or two and feels softer than usual. There is no flaking, no peeling and no need to take time off, which is why diamond peel is the popular option for lunch-break appointments and first-time clinic visitors.

For forty-eight hours, skip retinol and exfoliating acids, the skin has already exfoliated and adding more would over-strip the barrier. Skip heavy makeup for the rest of the day. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and intense exercise for twenty-four hours.

SPF 50 every morning for the next seven days is non-negotiable because the new surface is more photosensitive. Most patients book diamond peel monthly as part of a maintenance schedule, or as a course of six spaced two to four weeks apart for cumulative renewal.

Often considered alongside

Patients booking diamond peel often pair it with a Hydrafacial in the same visit for a deeper clinical facial, dermaplaning for a manual exfoliation alternative, chemical peels when pigmentation or acne is the focus, and an oxygen facial for an extra hydration boost.

Common questions

What patients ask first.

What is a diamond peel? +

A diamond peel is a form of microdermabrasion that uses a wand coated with industrial-grade diamond particles to mechanically exfoliate the outer layer of skin. A controlled vacuum at the tip lifts the loosened dead cells away from the surface. There is no acid, no heat and no needles. The result is an immediately smoother, brighter surface with no downtime, suitable for skin that does not tolerate chemical exfoliation.

How is diamond peel different from a chemical peel? +

A diamond peel exfoliates mechanically using a diamond-tip wand and vacuum suction; a chemical peel exfoliates chemically using acids that dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells. Diamond peel has no downtime, suits sensitive and pregnant patients (whom chemical peels exclude), and gives an immediate refresh. Chemical peels go deeper and address pigmentation, acne and pronounced ageing more directly, but carry more downtime and more contraindications.

How quickly will I see results? +

You see the difference immediately. The skin looks brighter and feels smoother as you leave the clinic, and the post-treatment glow lasts for around one to two weeks. Most patients book a single diamond peel four to seven days before an event for the strongest photographic finish, or a course of six monthly for ongoing surface clarity.

Is there any downtime? +

There is no downtime in the traditional sense. The skin can look mildly pink for an hour or two and feels slightly tight as the barrier settles, but you can wear makeup the next day. The freshly exfoliated surface is more photosensitive for a week, which is why SPF 50 daily is non-negotiable for the next seven days.

Who should not have a diamond peel? +

We do not treat patients with active acne pustules, active rosacea flares, eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area, recent sunburn, broken skin, or skin infections. Patients on isotretinoin currently or in the last six months are asked to wait until off-medication. Pregnant and breastfeeding patients are welcome, which is one of the advantages over chemical peels.

How much does diamond peel cost at CoLaz? +

A thirty-minute Express diamond microdermabrasion is £45 single, £120 for a course of three, £186 for a course of six. A sixty-minute standard session is £80 single, £210 for three, £330 for six. Half back is £80 single, £210 for three, £330 for six. Full back is £160 single, £420 for three, £594 for six. All prices confirmed in writing at your free consultation.
