What to do after a Lemon Bottle injection

The short version

  • Rest, hydrate well and use cold compresses for the first 24 hours to keep swelling comfortable.
  • Avoid heat (hot showers, saunas, sun), alcohol and caffeine for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Skip strenuous exercise for 48 to 72 hours and wear loose clothing over the area.
  • Only massage the area if your clinician specifically tells you to, and keep the skin clean.
  • Results build gradually over weeks; contact your clinic if you see signs of infection or swelling that worsens after a few days.

The hours and days after a Lemon Bottle treatment play a real part in how comfortable your recovery feels and how smoothly your results come through. None of it is complicated, but doing the simple things well makes a difference. Here is a clear guide, with the reminder that your clinician’s specific instructions always come first.

If you are booked for Lemon Bottle fat dissolving, save this for the day of your appointment.

The first 24 hours

  • Rest and take it easy. Light walking is fine, but do not rush straight back into a hard day. Gentle movement actually helps.
  • Hydrate well. Aim for plenty of water, around 8 to 10 glasses across the day, to support your body as it clears the treated fat.
  • Use cold compresses. An ice pack wrapped in a cloth, on for 10 to 20 minutes at a time, eases swelling and discomfort. Never put ice straight on the skin.
  • Avoid heat. Skip hot showers, baths, saunas and direct sun, all of which add to swelling.
  • Do not touch or prod the area beyond what is needed to keep it clean, to avoid introducing bacteria.
  • Go easy on alcohol and caffeine, which can dehydrate you and slow recovery.

The first week

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 to 72 hours. Let the area settle before heavy training.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the treated area.
  • Only massage if told to. Some protocols include massage, but only do it if your clinician specifically advises it, and exactly as shown.
  • Keep the area clean with gentle washing, and you can usually shower with lukewarm water after the first day.
  • Skip pools, hot tubs and saunas while the skin settles.

What is normal

Redness, swelling, tenderness and a little bruising are all expected, and they typically improve over a few days, with fuller settling over a couple of weeks. The area may look puffier before it looks slimmer. Our separate side-effects and recovery guide goes into the timeline in more detail.

Longer-term

Results develop gradually over several weeks, and often across a short course of sessions, so patience helps. Support them by keeping hydrated, eating well, staying active once recovered, and protecting the area with SPF. Attend any follow-up appointments so your clinician can review progress and plan the next session.

When to call your clinic

Most recovery is smooth, but get in touch if you notice signs of infection such as spreading redness, warmth, pus or a fever (which can indicate cellulitis), swelling that worsens after several days rather than improving, severe pain, or lumps that persist beyond a few weeks.

Good aftercare is also a reminder of why this treatment belongs with a trained, insured practitioner who is there for follow-up, not a one-off pop-up. You can check a provider’s credentials through registers such as the JCCP and Save Face, and the NHS has sensible general advice on cosmetic procedures.
