What Are Verrucas?
Verrucas are also referred to as plantar warts. They’re small, painless lumps that develop on the bottom of your feet. Verrucas are small, blackish-brown growths that grow on your feet and toes. They may have tiny black dots in the centre.
Verrucas can be very uncomfortable to walk on when you put weight on them because of their pressure. Occasionally, if you have clusters of verrucas, they may fuse, known as Mosaic warts. Verrucas can exist independently, but sometimes you get verrucas with other viruses such as the human papillomavirus (HPV). A verruca can be caused by a strain of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) known as HPV-3. This version of HPV causes verrucas to appear on one particular part of the body, which is the soles or balls of your feet.
There are hundreds of different strains of HPV and not all-cause verrucas—some versions like HPV-1, which causes hand warts, others like HPV-2 cause genital warts.
What Do Verrucas Look Like?
Verrucas are small, painless lumps that develop on the bottom of your feet. They can be flat or raised and have a black dot in the centre from where they get their blood supply. You may also see a hardened area around the verruca.
How To Remove Verrucas?
There are many ways you can get rid of verrucas. This includes:
- Over the counter verruca treatments
- Verruca removal creams or gels
- Laser verruca treatment
- Advanced electrolysis Procedure
Several of our clients have tried many things before contacting us, and they are astonished by the results they experience with advanced electrolysis.
What Is Advanced Electrolysis Procedure?
Advanced electrolysis is a highly effective method for getting rid of verrucas. It takes a few minutes to treat the verruca permanently, and from our experience, patients typically enjoy 100% success rates and no post-procedure complications.
Your clinician desensitizes the region to be treated once the area has been cleansed by gently tapping on the verruca. Then the probe’s tip is gently inserted into the verruca during treatment. Using a tiny needle, the current for Thermolysis is supplied to the infected area. Most of our patients report that the tingling isn’t painful, even if it is a little unpleasant. After therapy, the region will feel warm and maybe red with slight swelling for a brief period.
The process usually only takes 15-45 minutes to complete, depending upon the size of the verruca or the number of verrucas being treated. The treated verruca will typically disappear within 4 weeks; however, if the verruca is very deep, a follow-up treatment may be required.

Frequently Asked Questions
A virus causes warts and verrucas. They can be transmitted from unclean surfaces or through direct skin contact. If your skin is moist or damaged, you're more likely to spread a wart or verruca. It might take months for a wart or verruca to develop after coming into contact with the virus.
If you're using an over-the-counter medicine, lotions, or any other therapy, you must stop using it two weeks before undergoing advanced electrolysis treatment.
Usually, one treatment is required; however, some verrucas may require up to 3 treatments. No additional cost will be incurred for any follow-up treatments.
No. Everything is included in the price, so you will not incur any extra cost.
After treatment, the area will feel sore, and you may experience tingling in the area. It would help if you rested your feet as much as possible for a few days following therapy. There will be minor scabbing in the area - do not remove them. This is typical, and they will clear in 14 days.
The verruca is treated with a tiny needle, the current for thermal heating supplied via a probe. You may feel a tingling sensation at the time of treatment, and there may be some discomfort, but it is very tolerable. Your clinician will desensitize the area before treatment if they believe this will help to minimize any discomfort.
