Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment For The Face
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, also known as PRP Facelift, is a relatively new skin rejuvenation technique. This treatment uses your blood plasma to stimulate healthy tissue growth and healing at the cellular level.
PRP therapy is used on any part of the body; however, it has been the most popular treatment for facial rejuvenation and hair loss. It improves skin texture and tone, regenerates collagen, helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tackles blemishes, improves scarring, and restore a more youthful glow.
What Are Plasma And Platelets?
Plasma is a light yellow liquid when it has been separated from the rest of the blood, which is mainly made of water and proteins.
Platelets are small cell fragments in your bloodstream made in our bone marrow, which makes the clotting process possible to stop bleeding when you have an injury or cut.
What Is PRP?
PRP is an advanced cutting-edge technology that uses the patient’s blood, spun in a centrifuge, leaving plasma rich in platelets. The concentrated platelets contain growth factors that are vital to initiate tissue repair and regeneration.
Growth Factors
VEGF
(Vascular endothelial growth factor) is a signalling protein that helps grow new blood vessels and helps restore blood supply to cells and tissues.
EGF
(Epidermal growth factor)
helps stimulate new cell growth, new collagen and elastin fibres to improve the skin texture and elasticity. EGF plays a vital role in tissue repair. VEGF

PDGF
(Platelet-derived growth factor)
– This helps with healing, repair and stimulates the growth of its target cells and proliferation How Does Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Work On The Face?
When PRP is injected into the skin, it causes a mild inflammation that triggers the healing cascade.
The platelets release enzymes that aid in the healing process further, the cell respond by delivering stem cells and growth factors to mend the damaged area.
As a result, new collagen is formed. Collagen matures as it shrinks, producing a tight and strengthened effect in the injured area.
The tissue is remodelled to a more healthy and younger condition when treating injured, sun-exposed, or aged tissue.
PRP therapy is a relatively quick process and requires minimal downtime.

You require 3-4 treatments spread out every 3-6 weeks, depending on what you are treating and skin type. We recommend a booster treatment at 6 months to maintain the results. Patients who have relatively good skin can opt to have one treatment to preserve their skin.
Results for a course of PRP can last up to 18 months. A one-time treatment lasts for several months, but the results can vary depending on a person’s age, skin condition and how much sun exposure they have.
This is an essential part of the treatment, and we only use the top of the market Cellenis PRP centrifuge that has been designed to provide the purest platelet-rich plasma. Not all machines available on the market can deliver this, so be careful where you go for your treatment.
The process of blood collection begins by taking blood in an anti-coagulated tube with separation gel. The tube is then centrifuged for 10 minutes to separate the red blood cells and the plasma with platelets.
Once the PRP is ready, then this is drawn up into a needle prepared to inject.
This is one of the oldest methods to deliver PRP directly into the skin. Your clinician will work on the area by injecting small amounts of plasma into the treatment area. This will release all the growth factors and stem cells to help restore, repair and rejuvenate the skin.
PRP can also be delivered by our vital injector 2 gun, the most advanced technology used to regenerate and rejuvenate the skin. It is the only method that enables vacuum and multi-needle therapy to place the product in the skin in small doses.
The added benefit of using the vital injector gun will give you a double treatment of micro-needling and delivery of PRP into the skin. This fantastic combination will be more effective as it will allow for maximum absorption into the deeper layers.
Overall, more growth factors and stem cells will be delivered as you work closely over the skin during the treatment. It also helps to reduce healing time and treatment time, leaving your skin repaired and rejuvenated.
Our Doctor also uses the MP gun, which has one needle system of delivery. So all our clients have a choice of what option they would like to go for.
Our Doctors are GMC registered and qualified to deliver the treatment via the MP gun method, which gives you a double treatment of PRP and micro-needling
Our nurse is registered with the NMC - fully qualified to deliver the treatment utilizing the vital 2 injector.
