Tinted Moisturiser

Tinted Moisturiser Vs BB Cream

So you must have noticed the recent hype around BB creams.

What is BB cream?

Don't be alarmed if you are unsure about what they are. They can also be known as blemish balm creams. In a way they are in fact an all in one cream; many of them offer the following:

  • Make-up primer
  • Concealer
  • Sun protection
  • Moisturiser
  • Age reduction
  • Blemish reduction

So if a BB cream can offer so much in one what is the purpose of a tinted moisturiser?

Well firstly they are completely different types of products. The purpose of a tinted moisturiser is to hydrate skin whilst adding a small amount of colour to the skin.

It wouldn’t necessarily provide a full amount of coverage, but it allows someone to leave their skin bare.

So which one should you opt for?

If you have oily skin and are avoiding the use of make-up, then apply a tinted moisturiser. After a facial the tinted moisturiser would also work better. Tinted moisturiser is more breathable for the skin.

If you are planning to apply make-up, or just going out on a regular day then BB cream can really help with tons of things at once. It would be wanted of the best products to have lying around in your make up bag.

As BB creams have only just come out on to the British market, you may want to wait and see how well they review in a few months' time.
