My forehead is tanner than the rest of my face and the tan is taking too long to go
Thank you for contacting Colaz Harrow. Our team is more than happy to assist with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Tanning of the skin due to sun exposure is quite common and some people tend to hold a tan for quite a while, this could sometimes result in to hyperpigmentation which occurs when melanin is overproduced in certain areas on the skin due to excessive sun exposure. Melanin acts as our skin’s natural sunblock, however, excessive sun exposure may disrupt the process and lead to hyperpigmentation in the long run.
In order to get rid of this, we can even out the skin’s complexion with a number of treatments such as diamond peel or microdermabrasion. With this treatment the complexion of the skin is evened out through the use of a mechanical method of exfoliation as it removes all the dead skin cells from the outermost layer of the skin.
This treatment goes brilliantly with Dermapen treatments every 4 to 6 weeks. Dermapen involves the use of a pen containing several tiny needles; these needles penetrates at different areas to create micro injuries to the epidermis and dermis and in turn will stimulate the body’s own collagen production and will compel the body to start its healing process.
Hyperpigmentation can be reduced with the help of Dermapen and requires 4 to 6 sessions with a gap of 4 to 6 weeks between each session.
Alternatively, you could also try chemical peels. During this treatment we apply an acidic solution on to the face to remove the surface layers of the skin. The chemical will then cause the skin to eventually peel off and reveal new and evenly pigmented skin underneath.
In addition to this, I highly advise you to always use a sun protecting factor that contains a broad spectrum and an SPF 30 to protect the skin from harmful effects of the sun.
I would also like to advise you to come in for a FREE skin consultation with one of our experienced therapists so we can assess your skin and guide you on our treatments.
We are more than happy to help and guide you on the right steps to take, so please do not hesitate to contact Colaz if you require any further information.
