I am undergoing laser treatment for the face and find that every time i have a session done my gums hurt last to last session i had a infection on my lips with which my teeth hurt too and the last session my gum was hurting . should i stop the treatment?
Reply Laser hair removal should not cause any infections around the lip or gum areas. I recommend that you should visit your dentist, regarding the soreness and painful sensations around the area.
There are a number of possible causes for a tooth infection; it could be that your teeth have become sensitive – which could mean you need to change your toothpaste. I personally don’t believe the infection is related to your laser hair removal treatment as the laser does not penetrate through the skin and onto your gums so therefore should not affect it.
If you are concerned, you could request that your laser technician places cotton wool around the gum area before they perform the treatment. You need to talk to your technician, and also need to consult your dentist as there could possibly be an underlying medical condition which you are suffering from.
As I have stated before there are a number of things which may have caused the infection but I do not think laser is one of these causes.
I have heard, through the grapevine, that if you have laser hair removal whilst having a sun tan or being exposed to the sun then it can cause white pigmentation.
Is this true?
Answer Yes this is true. If you are getting laser hair removal done and you have a tan you should wait at least 3/4 weeks before your sun tan has settled down before any laser technician can re treat the area.
The reason is because you can get white pigmentation marks or hypo-pigmentation marks on the skin. This is because your skin has gone slightly darker and your melanin in the skin has not settled and if we do the laser there is a high risk of chance you getting the white pigmentation and the brown pigmentation patches.
So if you are going on holiday you have to ensure you apply a good suntan block for eg. spf 30 and it is advisable not to have laser least two to three weeks before you fly out.
I normally wax my back and belly/chest! At the Hair and beauty salon in Berwick-upon-Tweed/ North East England.
I normally pay around £30 for all.
As I have dark hair, Can I have Laser Treatment and I would want to do it slowly.
I want my legs, arms, back, chest and belly done as I am very hairy all-over.
Now that I have read this site and watched the videos it maybe impossible for me to have Laser Treatment.
What do you think?
Reply Yes it can. If your hairs are Dark brown and black, then laser is the perfect option. If you have fair skin or you fall between skin types 1 and 3, then with dark hair you will see quicker results, the darker you are the longer it can usually take to do the treatment. If you are skin type 6: Afro Caribbean skin type it can always take slightly longer to treat. I don’t understand what you mean by “now that I have read this site and watched the videos it may be impossible for me to have laser treatment”.
