I got hair on my cheeks and uni-brow and i want to get rid of it, but underneath the hair i got scars will it also remove the scars or will you be able to remove them??
Answer: What type of scarring is it? Some of my clients that have scarring from acne has seen some improvement with laser but only slightly.
A course of Microdermabrasion will definitely help together with LED light therapy.
If you can come in for a consultation, one of our trained therapist will go through your questions and have a look at your skin and will be able to recommend a suitable treatment for your scarring.
I am an Asian male who has really a lot of hair on my body which has grow all over my body over the years after prolonged shaving. The hairs are black and thick, i want to get treatment for these areas back, front shoulders and upper arms. Will I need to trim the hair before I come in for treatment after the consultation?
Reply Hi Harvey,
After the consultation and before you attend your first treatment all the areas you would like treated will need to be shaved. So you have to be clean shaven before the laser treatment.
Trimming the hairs won’t have the effect so it will need to be shaved.
Normally we recommend shaving the night before because if on the day of the treatment we shave it for you (small charge) then you may have some redness after the laser treatment. Therefore it is best if you have your hair the night before. Of course some clients don’t have someone to help them to shave so we are happy to do this for you as long as you tell us before hand so that we can book a longer treatment slot for you.
Hi! I'm still unsure about getting laser however, I've heard it can help get rid of ingrown hairs on the legs? Is this true? and can it help get rid of the red dots that can occur on your legs after waxing?
Answer Yes that is true laser can help to get rid of in-growing hairs.
The red dots you see after waxing is a common reaction especially if you have sensitive skin but it normally clears up after 2 days.
If you have laser and have sensitive skin you may notice some redness on the area but this normally clears up within 24hrs.
If you have scarring because of the in-growing hairs, a course of laser may help reduce the pigment around the scarring.
I hope that helps
reduced on legs, face lower arms but hair on my back shoulders and chest have gone darker and thicker.
My advice to you is to contact the clinic. Arrange a meeting to see your therapist and discuss what is happening, because she will need to have a look at the area.
I can't actually state what's going on because I haven't done your treatment, I haven't got your notes in front of me, so I don't know what's being used and what machine you're on. But I know for a fact, if you get your legs, lower arms done as well, they'll see a quicker reduction in those areas. Sometimes back and chest can take a lot longer to do, but do contact the clinic and see what they advise you to do.
I was wondering whether you do laser treatment for forehead and side burns?
Answer We do all body areas. Come in for a consultation and let us look at the area you want treating.
Also sign up to our email alerts newsletter as every month we give out massive discounts on laser.
Hi I have black shaving dots on my legs, I think they are ingrown and have left really unattractive black dots all over my legs, when I shave or wax the dots dont get any better.
Can laser remove the dots completely? And do you only have the Soprano XL machine as your only laser machine
Answer Hi its difficult to advise you without seeing these shaving dots. If you are local pop in to see us so that we can check the dots. It maybe you are not shaving correctly. If that's the case I'll get one of our therapist to show you have to shave the correct way.
If your not local send us a picture by email and I'll respond to it.
We have an LED light therapy machine that can improve skin texture and tone. Click on this link to be taken to our LED Light Therapy Page.
I hope that helps!
I'm working for laser hair removal...I had an incident that I burn the skin of patient.. what would be first remedy I have to do right after the incident??
Reply It really depends how deep the laser hair removal burns are.
If it is just a superficial burn which has left little brown scabs then that normally heals up quickly providing the patient does not pick at the area. You need to advice the patient to leave the scab alone and wear plenty of sun block in the area.
You will also get the patient to apply sudcream and antiseptic. These help the healing process quicker.
As long as the patient does not pick the scab it won’t scar but if they pick the scab it will end up scarring.
If the patient has come back after 24hrs you need to assess the skin to see how deep the laser hair removal burns are. If it is a severe laser burn advice the patent to go their GP or hospital.
If it is a mild burn the patient may need to use skin brightening after a month to lighten the scar. Normally the superficial scars will take three months to heal and you can do Microdermabrasion once the scars have settle in that area.
Saw the video clip you have on laser treatment and the laser looks quite big and is known for treating many hairs at once
How does it work on smaller areas such as eyebrows?
Does it allow you to accurately shape them and also to accurately deal with the right hairs for a unibrow etc where areas for error are small?
Answer We don't use the laser near the eyes. It's just too risky!
We use the applisonix machine near the eyes as it's very popular for permanent eyebrow reduction. Because the machine ultrasound energy it's far safer then laser around the eyes.
We have quite a few clients that have stopped threading and moved on to a more permanent solution using the applisonix machine
Is it essential to have six sessions for half cheeks? Can't u do in less time?
Answer: Hi Sabi to get a good result you will require between 6/8 sessions and perhaps a top up maybe once a year.
The thicker the hair and lighter the skin the quicker the results. The finer the hair the more treatments you require.
Sessions all depend on your hair growth cycle
If we catch the hair in the Anagen stage that hair will be killed but if in the Telogen stage the hair underneath will grow back.
Click this link which explains the laser hair growth cycles in more detail.
will laser treatment get rid of a mans facial shadow?
Reply We treat a lot of males beard with the laser and we have noticed the 5 o’clock shadow dose disappear as you are not shaving as often and the hair follicles are not present.
I mean the best thing is always go in for consultation so that the therapist can have look at your hair growth and your skin type then be able to advise you on how effective it will be but overall we do get clients where they do have a 5 o’clock shadow.
Most of the areas are on cheeks area will see a quicker result, whereas on the upper lip and chin it does take slightly longer so you will need 6 to 7 treatments.
Sorry for all the questions! but Ive been doing a lot of research on laser hair removal. I have found out of all the clinics/websites you seem to provide a lot of information.
I want to start treatment on my chin and maybe upper lip. I am really cautious about my skin and would like to go to someone who knows what they are doing and a clinic that provides consultation.
Its a mission to get to your clinic, so I was wondering if i could come in sometime on a weekend. I would like to show u my problem area to find out what would work best electrolysis or laser.

Hi There, I'm in middle of my treatment and after 7 sessions I saw a good result. when i got my 8 session done my hair grew back again. I know the place i got it done from changed the machine which I didn't feel any heat during the session. would you know what had caused the hair to grow again, the machine or myself?
Reply Hi, OCWA from your question I understand that your therapist has switched the machines they were using, and you have found that on your 8th session you have more stimulated hair growth.
You want to know if it is the machine at fault or if it was because of you that you have developed new hair growth.
To be honest you need to go back to your therapist and discuss it with her, as I do not know what machine or settings she has been using.
Some reasons for re-hair growth are hormonal factors – you may have gone through a hormonal change, where you saw that you have excessive hair growth after laser treatment or new growth developing.
It could be that it is being under treated – this would not give you new hair growth, but it would mean that the hairs that were present have not been treated properly and may not have fallen out.
Those are the two options that I would explore. I personally do recommend that you speak to your therapist, go back to the clinic and express your concerns. They will probably look at your hair growth and check your settings etc.
If you do know what machine they have switched you onto then that would be helpful as then I may be able to advise you on what the correct settings are to which they should or shouldn't be using.
Any new hair growth that does come back through is normally due to factors such as hormonal changes, stress or even starting new medication.
Also do remember that laser hair removal is only a reduction it does not give 100% permanent results.
I have vitiligo but I am desperate to have permanent hair removal. Is there a type that is suited to my condition?
We normally don’t carry out treatment on any patient that suffers from vitaligo. There have been reports where a 35 year women had laser hair removal on an area where she had vitilgo and there was zero response. In other words it did not work.
I’ve personally not tested this but if your Doctor says it is okay and you have a written letter then there maybe some clinics that will do the treatment.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear but the risk of you wasting your money is high.
Are there any home laser hair removal kits that are known to be safe for those with epilepsy? I'm interested in home laser hair removal but weary of what several light flashes at once could do. (Do NOT have photosensitive epilepsy) But red light sensitive.
Unfortunately I do not know a lot about home laser systems. If you are interested in conducting laser hair removal for home use, then the best thing to do would be to do some research into people’s feedback on the home kits they have purchased.
If you personally have a medical condition then I advise that you seek advice from your doctor or someone with a professional background, to ensure that it would be safe for you to use the kits.
We do not treat clients that suffer from epilepsy, unless they provide us with a doctor’s note consenting that it is okay for them to go ahead.
If you are interested in purchasing a home kit from somewhere such as Argos, then please do make sure you read through the manufacturer’s instructions. As in the case of home kits, I am not aware of who cannot have treatment done.
I have hair growing up my bottom (crack) and am hairy down below bikini line. Being female I am very depressed by this and wonder if I can have laser hair removal down there.
Reply Yes you can have laser in that area. In fact we treat many clients down below the bikini line.
