What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive facial exfoliation treatment performed by trained skincare professionals. It uses a sterile, medical-grade blade to gently scrape away dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (often called peach fuzz) from the skin surface.
This controlled technique helps reveal fresh skin underneath, leaving your face feeling incredibly smooth and noticeably brighter. Unlike shaving, waxing, or threading, professional dermaplaning is a precise, non-invasive treatment that exfoliates the skin and removes fine facial hair, tailored to your unique skin type.
Dermaplaning does not cause hair to grow back thicker or darker. Instead, it promotes better skin renewal and improves the effectiveness of skincare products.
How Dermaplaning Works?
Dermaplaning can be performed by a dermatologist, aesthetician, or a clinician professional trained in the procedure.
The treatment is carried out using a sterile surgical scalpel at a 45-degree angle, and the clinician will carefully drag it across your skin. This will remove dead cells, vellus hair, and other debris from your skin.
After that, the skin is cleaned, and a mask is applied. After that, the treatment is finished with a serum and moisturizer with SPF 30
It’s an easy process that takes just minutes and requires no downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions
Once your hair starts to grow back, it may feel slightly different as the fuzz hair was cut straight across, but it’s the same texture as before and will regrow at the same speed. It might seem fuller because the scalpel bluntly cut the hair over having a natural end to it.
Clients with fine lines, sun damage, and dehydrated, dull skin and peach fuzz hair are great candidates for dermaplaning. If you have coarse hairs, this treatment will not suit you or clients with active, inflamed acne.
You may see some redness post-treatment, but this will dissipate, and you can go back to work immediately after your session.
The procedure will remove at least three weeks of dead skin cells, so your red-carpet glow will last all month long. Since your skin is continually growing, you should schedule an appointment every month to maintain your results.
If you have fine hair and don’t like the idea of shaving, then we highly recommend you combine this treatment with laser hair removal. This will allow you to remove the hairs and remove dead skin cells allowing better penetration of the laser light energy.
We recommend that you have dermaplaning 10-14 days after your laser hair removal treatment, as this will help remove the hairs in the shedding phase. After that, you will wait for 2 weeks and undergo your laser appointment as usual.

Dermaplanning is not like shaving, as it is an exfoliation treatment that removes vellus hair, leaving your skin smoother, softer, and even in tone and texture.
There are no known side effects from dermaplaning. However, it is essential to note that you could experience some redness, irritation and inflammation of your skin, which subsides within 24 hours
Yes! Dermaplaning is a treatment that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair, aka peach fuzz.
No, it will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. The hair may feel different as it has been cut, but it will come back with the same texture as before, growing at the same speed. The only way hair grows thicker is when the endocrine system is upset via hormones.
