7 Steps: How to Get Beautiful Skin

Follow these 7 Steps to improve your skin condition.

Step # 1: sun protection

Sun protection needs to be applied daily in order to protect you from harmful UVA and UVB sun rays. Anyone can be affected even if you are living in a country where there are colder climates such as the UK or Russia. The environment can also cause your skin to age. So by keeping in a good routine of applying sun protection you can avoid deep wrinkles and sunspots appearing on the skin. Nowadays you will find that you can pick up the foundation and makeup which already has an SPF agent within it.

Step #2: exfoliate once a week

Using an exfoliator can help to remove any dead skin and dirt from the surface of the skin. You can either use a product at home or opt for a deep exfoliating treatment such as microdermabrasion. With microdermabrasion facials these can be conducted every 2 -4 weeks depending on how sensitive your skin is.

Step #3: moisturise twice a day

It is essential that you are moisturising your skin both in the morning and evening. You do not have to necessarily purchase a different day and night cream; you just need to ensure that you are keeping your skin hydrated in this way.

You need to use an appropriate moisturizer that matches your skin type. Even people who have oily skin types need to make sure that they are using moisturizers after cleansing their skin to keep the necessary oils locked in.

Step #4: drink plenty of water daily

Heard it 1000 times before; yet an eight glasses a day guideline can be difficult to follow. So do it in the most realistic way possible for you. You have no excuse if you have access to clean drinkable tap water in your workplace and home. Keep a 500 ml water bottle by your side every day and make sure you are refilling it once you’ve drank away all the goodness from the first fill.

Water has so many great qualities; it can effectively reduce dehydration, its 0 calories and can even help to burn more off. It cleanses the skin and is helps the brain and other body organs to function efficiently making you more alert.

Step #5: sleep loads – 8 hours

The average adult should be sleeping 7 – 8 hours daily. A good amount of sleep can help rejuvenate your skin and avoid dark eye circles. Sleeping also helps your cells to repair and recover from daily activities. Your hair and skin produce hormones to help them grow and protect them from environmental damage whilst you are asleep.

During your “shut eye” period your face muscles relax and the longer you stay like that the better chance of preventing deep set wrinkles and frown lines.

Step #6: eat healthy – avoid sugar

Bad dietary habits can show up on the face. Foods that are fried, oily or contain a lot of sugar tend to cause the skin to have outbreaks. Also many people would recommend that you consume certain fruits to see positive effects on the skin. Blueberries are an antioxidant which can help reduce puffy eyes and make your skin look more radiant.

Step #7: regular facials

Coming in for facials every 4 – 6 weeks allows a therapist to remove any excess oil build-up at the surface of the skin. All whiteheads and blackheads can be removed. They are conducted by professional therapists who can identify what products your skin is in need of. Not only are they full of visible benefits but a good facial can really help you kick back and relax. In many cases clients have fallen asleep mid-way through their facial treatment.
